We all get really excited for the times of year that trout are sipping flies off of the surface. Watching a fly drift in the current and then disappear in a dimple of water is what many of us hope for on every trip to the river. One of the things I have been finding on the Deerfield and Swift is that these fish are often taking these bugs out of the film and they have tendency to avoid the high floating varieties. These flies taught in this class are specific for these scenarios.

The Pop Top Spinner

Pop top spinner, this is a spinner with a small dollop of foam on top to keep it riding in the correct orientation and to make it buoyant so it can be fished in broken water.

The Cul Del Loop Emerger

Cul Del Loop Emerger, This fly is in the Quigley cripple family. The emerging wing is tied with CDC feathers and give a really good hatching look. This fly is tied in a variety of color combos and sizes. From big size 12 drakes to size 18 sulphurs.

Pop Top Nymph

Pop top Nymph, is something I came up with to tackle the film eaters in faster water at lower light. This is a great dropper fly, or point fly for technical scenarios.
